Furher as to Dan Gill's note, most of the burning of christians took place
in the Roman Empire and in the first few centuries. A group from the
Tuscany area, therefore north of Rome, heard what was going on and wanted to
participate locally. They sent a messenger requesting instructions to an
expert who was known at the time as Bob in Rome. In brief, the Tuscany
group wanted to get from Bob either tablets showing how it is done or the
newly invented moving tablets which, if you glanced at them quickly one
after enough, gave a lifelike recreation of how Lawrence and others were
burned. Bob in Rome said no dice to the messenger, you have to learn how to
burn a christian from someone who already knows, and you have to respect
time honored traditions in the process iteself. Some of the fellows from
the Tuscany area were thought to be pushy, and so they either had to learn
on their own or never learned at all. That's how it happened.

Seems that I heard it a different way..........I heard that the messenger
from Tuscany found "Bob in Rome" to be more than willing to share his ideas
on burning Christians. Not pleased with this knowlege and wanting more,
they sent a messenger to France to get the wisdom of "Paul in Paris", who
was fond of burning Muslums. Then one to India to visit with "Danny in
Delhi", who had an affection for burning Mongolians.

Ignorantly, they figured that the procedure would be the same regardless
of the nationality of the person burned. But they found discrepancies
and differences between each. What would they do now that they'd gone
to great lengths to do nothing more than further confuse themselves ?

Well, they carefully examined all three and decided that they had the
all of the necessary skills and materials to burn Christians
in the manner that "Paul in Paris" and "Danny in Delhi" burned
Muslims and Mogolians, respectivelly. To take the advice of "Bob
in Rome" would mean going to a great amount of trouble and effort.
They decided to opt for the easy route, and in order to justify this,
they could simply quote Paul and Danny's advice. Afterall, it was
two against one...

Still feeling insecure, the Tuscanians felt the need to go back
to Rome and tell Bob about their newly found wisdom. They attempted
to convince him that the method they had chosen was equally good
and proper, not to mention completely endorsed by Paul and Danny.

Now "Bob in Rome" was grinning from ear to ear throughout all of
this. Then it turned into uncontrollable laughter, which prompted
the Tuscanians to stop and ask Bob what exactly was so funny ?
Gathering himself briefly, Bob told them that there was no need
to continue with their line of conversation. Once again, Bob was
overtaken with laughter, but throughout was able to manage a few
words.

Here's what they were...

"I'm sorry...."I'm terribly sorry"...

"You mean you sent people half way around the world to see how
to burn Muslums and Mongolians ?".....

...(laughter)...

"Oh my, I must be getting old"

...(laughter)...

"Not to mention deaf"...

"Once again, I'm sorry"

...laughter"

"But when you guys were here before, I could have sworn
that you were wanting to know about burning......

...uncontrollable laughter...

"CHRISTIANS" !!!!!!!!!!
